Where Innovation Becomes the Experience

Event Overview

Peanut Productions delivers the Stockland Innovation Awards, the company’s premier gala recognising the individuals and teams driving innovation across the business.

Innovation is fundamental to both the purpose of the awards and Stockland’s broader business philosophy. Each year, Peanut Productions is challenged to reimagine the experience, introducing new technologies, creative approaches and production techniques that ensure the event itself embodies the innovation it exists to celebrate.

Hosted at Machine Hall in Sydney’s CBD, the premium gala brought together 150 guests in a venue selected for its architectural character and its own story of reinvention. The transformation of a historic industrial building into a contemporary destination provided an appropriate backdrop for an event centred on challenging convention and looking forward.

Our Approach

For Peanut Productions, the challenge is not simply to deliver an awards night differently each year. It is to identify innovation that has purpose.

Every creative and technical decision must strengthen the experience while remaining unmistakably Stockland. The result is a highly considered event where technology, content, hospitality and design work together rather than competing for attention.

Machine Hall provided an exceptional blank canvas, but required the event to be created virtually from the ground up. Peanut Productions approached the venue as an opportunity to design a completely bespoke environment, introducing the infrastructure, production and hospitality elements required to transform the raw architectural space into a sophisticated Stockland experience.

Experience Design

The defining innovation was a spectacular installation of transparent LED mesh extending more than 10 metres high, combining solid and transparent LED technology to create a digital canvas that appeared to become part of the architecture itself.

Rather than simply displaying traditional event content on an unconventional screen, Peanut Productions designed and produced bespoke layered content specifically for the technology. Visual elements appeared to float within the space, creating a dimensional, almost three-dimensional effect that shifted between transparency and high-impact digital imagery.

Stockland’s brand palette was integrated across the LED content and complementary projections throughout Machine Hall, allowing digital content to move beyond a conventional stage environment and become part of the entire room.

Physical branding was deliberately restrained. Every brand touchpoint was methodically considered, allowing Stockland’s identity to remain present and cohesive while preserving the premium character of the venue and giving the technology space to become the hero of the experience.

Event Execution

Peanut Productions provided complete end-to-end event management, encompassing strategy, creative development, technical production, content creation, venue transformation, styling, hospitality, supplier management and onsite delivery.

With Machine Hall operating as a true blank canvas, virtually all event infrastructure required a dedicated bump-in, including kitchen facilities, furniture and technical production. Delivering a premium gala within the space required precise coordination across multiple disciplines while maintaining an exceptionally high standard across every guest-facing detail.

Peanut Productions also managed and created the complete suite of event content, ensuring the awards, motion graphics, digital environments and brand elements worked cohesively across the technical installation.

Hospitality was treated with the same level of consideration. A tailored, sophisticated menu complemented the premium environment, ensuring the culinary experience felt as deliberate as the creative and production design surrounding it.

Event Outcomes

The Stockland Innovation Awards demonstrated how technology can move beyond production infrastructure to become an integral part of event storytelling.

The transparent LED installation provided the innovation Stockland expects from the event each year while remaining purposeful, sophisticated and intrinsically connected to the brand. Combined with layered content, architectural projection and carefully controlled physical branding, it transformed Machine Hall without diminishing the character that made the venue distinctive.

More importantly, the event continued to evolve alongside Stockland itself. By continually challenging the creative and technical approach, Peanut Productions delivered an experience that did more than recognise innovation across the business – it demonstrated it.
